October every year since 2007 Kiwis in LA has facilitated an Art Show that highlights local artists, performers, and NZ food and wine.
A great opportunity to network with other Kiwis, get the sights and sounds of home and also network your own business and projects.
Sponsors include Air New Zealand and Mainfreight shipping.
The New Zealand Official Residence kindly open their doors to us each year so that we can gather and celebrate the past year with fellow Kiwis in LA!
With raffles, auction prizes, awesome kiwi kai, wine and liquor it's a beautiful night that you don't want to miss!
Drinks, great food and Kiwi banter! Hosted by Tangaroa Raw Fish Market in Culver City 6-9pm the last Thursday of every month!
Mark if on your calendar!

" I'm from Wellington & have been on my big OE for as long as I can remember, moving between Sydney & London with yearly stints of re-grounding in NZ, I've been based in LA since I won the GreenCard Lottery & picked the town hailed for great weather. A jack of all trades I primarily work in filmmaking, then also freelance in media mgmt, & have various passion projects in the metaphysical, songwriting & performance. "
Roger found KILA around 2010.
" I have been in LA since 1990 & started my accounting career with the Deloittes affiliate in Wellington in the 1970s.
Other than looking after about a dozen tax clients, I mostly spends my days playing tennis or golf, & also keeping track of my six kids spread all across the globe.
Being from a small country, I think we need to encourage one another that we really can succeed in whatever we set out to do. "

Brought up in Mount Maunganui, in the BOP and then Waiheke Island in the Hauraki Gulf before heading off to the UK and beyond. Lived and worked around the world for many years before arriving in Los Angeles 12yrs ago.
I worked within the events industry for a number of years with various brands creating events and activations before transitioning into the Art Department within the film industry. In the last few years I have been working for a design studio as the project coordinator for high end landscape projects throughout Los Angeles CA and Austin TX.
For over the last 20 yrs my folks have resided in Matakohe on the Kaipara Harbour, which has meant whenever I’m back home in Aotearoa I’m Northland based and get to enjoy the stunning Kaipara views and expansive star filled night skies.

" I grew up in Havelock North, in the Hawkes Bay & attended the University of Canterbury where I obtained an LLB. After establishing a career in Christchurch, I set my sights further afield - spending 11 years in Brisbane, Australia before landing in LA in early 2019. I was working for a global tech start up & the commute from down under was too much. LA gives me the flexibility to literally get anywhere I need to be within 13 hours. I'm delighted to be part of this group & I look forward to collaborating & building on the foundations that exist today. "
Born & bred in Auckland yet spent many summers plus one school semester (getting picked on by country kids) in Blenheim. Living life huge on my grandparents farm picking fruit & making toast on an old school pot belly stove with home made everything from scratch including the meat. At the mature age of 18 I started my "OE" in Italy for a year & never looked back. I continued to move around & ended up living here & there in France, Germany, Sydney (you have to check out what all the Auzzie Opera House fuss is about at some point) Taiwan, Hong Kong. Swore black & blue I would NEVER live in America or marry an American. So I moved to New York & married a German. He took me to San Francisco where I bounced back & forth between SFO & LAX for work & play. One day I decided to run away to San Clemente in the OC & get divorced. Joyously lived on my own in the OC a stone's throw from the beach until my one & only true love in life, my baseball junkie boyfriend (can it be more "American"?) moved me back up to LA. LA is where I happily reside daydreaming of the ocean shores of San Clemente with my Bengal "Enki Anunnaki Zagaris" & 2 part time step children, neither of them have red hair. I now have a coaching & training business in the corporate world "Changing the face of bored rooms".

" I was born & raised in Nelson NZ, a great place to grow up. In 1974 I headed off to NT Australia, circumnavigated Australia, then headed off to UK & Europe before Israel where I met my wife.
Back to NZ again & after 2 years off to Australia for seven years traveling around, but mostly in Brisbane, eventually landed in the USA where we have lived in LA from 1987 until today.
I have my own business as an Electrical Contractor, I also do photography & after editing my photos sell them at the KILA annual art show. I was so happy to find Kiwis in LA for reconnecting with the Kiwi spirit. I try to go home at least once a year but I don't feel I am ready to return to NZ just yet, maybe one day in the future but I love my visits. "
"I born in New Zealand's South Island & grew up mostly in Lower Hutt & Sydney.
I'm a former journalist & lived for 10 years in Latin America covering news & features around the region for Time, Business Week, Financial Times, New York Times, Sunday Times of London, Miami Herald & Houston Chronicle among media outlets.
Now residing in Santa Monica, I'm a freelance writer & editor, and I also write mystery/thriller novels.
" I was brought up in Auckland & has been a resident of Los Angeles since 2002.
A Realtor at Keller Williams Santa Monica, I have helped members of Kiwi’s in LA buy & sell property throughout LA.

I enjoy fishing, formula 1, growing feijoas in my back yard & being on the Kiwi’s in LA board. "
